In effort to pursue a more sustainably conscious vision, GFC up-cycles dead stock fabrics and related materials and makes them into new clothing.
the point is to be mindfully simple in practical ways while still looking fabulous. just in the U.S. alone, GreenAmerica.org tells us that the EPA reports about 16 million tons of textile waste per year, which roughly over three million is incinerated and 10 million tons goes to landfills (sad times). to put into percentages, 62.5% goes to landfills, 18.7% gets incinerated (aka burned), 14.5% actually gets recycled, and the other 4.3% gets exported overseas. Shocking numbers right? And that’s just from the States, lets change some of the numbers.
GFC sells season-less (aka not specific to spring/summer or autumn/winter) small batch collections of up-cycled garments.
you get to have a unique, one of a kind garment that gets a second chance at life. We do limited quantity of garments and accessories as more materials come in. There is no specific timeline, we go with the flow gracefully.
a different way for pursuing sustainability, Graceful Flow offers alteration services. this way your clothes will fit without throwing it out.
We primarily perform alteration services for ready-to-wear (RTW), streetwear, and occasionally formal wear (i.e. Suit Jackets, trousers, and cocktail dresses). You can make a request for an alteration service by messaging us on instagram @graceful_flow_clothing.
At this time, we won’t be able to perform these services for bridal gowns or athletic wear. Due to material types found in athletic wear and the complexity of the fit for both categories of wear that it will be best to have those services done at a brick and mortar alteration business specialising in that type of service.
