Starting GFC

This is Clara, and this is my journey towards sustainable fashion.

Passionate for biblical femininity and sustainability, i knew i had to contribute to a more healthy future knowing that so many second hand clothes that didn’t get purchased being thrown in the landfill.

I know that many will turn away when someone says “biblical”. society often connects biblical teachings and femininity as a form of oppression when in reality that’s not the case.

Truthfully, the bible actually lifts up and empowers women in profound ways. which can look different from a societal perspective, but, in fact, women are cherished for their god-given gifts and talents.

Testimony

i grew up with Christian parents, but fully became a Christian in 2022 after undeniable encounters with God.

I have friends who are part of the alternative community and being a Christian was something that confused them because I have dressed in a similar fashion to my friends. Not as a way to fit in, I just didn't want to try to fit into the other societal fashion norms.

After trying so hard to fit into societal norms, I took the quest to being content for how God made me, while encouraging others to do the same.

the initial collection

It started as a Final project for a fashion design studio during my third year at Kent State.

I focused in on two things:

  1. creating the collection from dead stock materials only. use what you have in a smart fashion.

  2. a new take on Christian streetwear mainly for women.

the vibes are what i like to call “divorced dad rock”.

you know, the garage beer dad who listens to trivium, creed, deftones, and alice in chains; who looks like he can take your boyfriend out in a front yard wrestle match (maybe he can, idk) but in reality is just a huge teddy bear.

thats the collection vibe. but combining that with feminine streetwear that exemplifies Christianity? that is the journey i’m taking.

come along with me as i continue to show the love of god, empower women, and contribute to a fashionably sustainable future.
